Mutter Museum
A few weeks ago William was badgering us to go to the Mutter Museum. If you don't know of it, it is pretty gross, by most people's account. He insisted on going with Mary. She really didn't want to see it, but being a good mom, did her duty and took him.

Before going in to the Musuem, William got a kid hot chocolate which he was pretty thrilled about.

Conway Collision
Congratulations to my friends Melissa Tevere and Patrick Conway on opening a new business, Conway Collision! They had a grand opening a few weeks ago that Russell attended. Melissa went to art school with Russell way back when. You should also remember her name from the most recent painting show at our house, Familiar Terrain.

LL Pavorsky
This is Lee Pavorsky. He is another one of Russell's friends from art school. Russell and Lee first met in Rome back in 1984. Shortly after they finished at Tyler, Lee opened a jewelry shop, LL Pavorsky. Last week Lee had a celebration of his 25th year in business! Plus, it was 25 years ago that I bought Mary's engagement and wedding ring from his shop. Congratulations Lee!

Lee raffled off many door prizes at the party to benefit PAWS, culminating in a grand prize drawing for a $2500 diamond ring! Everyone who came to the party got one free ticket and they you could buy as many as you wanted from Marissa. Each ticket had 6 digits. Lee would read the first digit and everyone with that number would raise their hand and so on until only the winner was left. This is a photo of the grand prize drawing with everyone looking at me as I was the only person with their hand up by the fifth digit. Lee read the last number, 1, my ticket had a 2! Oh snap! I missed by one number and the person with that ticket had already left the store.

Now, you see the guy with the red hair? His name is Daniel. He came to the party and bought a whole mess of raffle tickets in hope of winning the grand prize so he could give it to his girl friend as and engagement ring. The next ticket pulled out the bag, after the one that I almost won with, matched his! Some of the ladies had tears rolling down their face they were so happy for him.

Poetry Reading
Back in August Russell was part of a show in Philly where his painting was on display with a poem from a local poet. The paintings and poems were about the same location. The lady in this photo, JC Todd, was the poet whose poem was paired with Russell's painting (a book will be published soon which I will certainly let everyone know about). JC invited us to a reading of her works down in Philly. Russell and Emily went and had a lovely evening in Old City.

Here is Russell and Seba. A friend of mine asked what was up with the lighting in these photos. I said it was the light in which the Irish are most accoustomed!

Le Toux
Now, remember that red headed dude that won the ring at Lee's shop? When I brought the boys back to get their picture taken with Le Toux, I looked to my left and and said "Hey, your the dude that won that ring that I was supposed to win!" I then wrestled him to the ground and beat the ring out of him... Not really, but it was pretty funny. It turns out that Daniel was the equipment manager for the Union! It's a small world sometimes.
